Molecular Cloning Service
Molecular Cloning Service
Services are available for volumes of four or more PCR-mediated cloning events of insertion fragments of 3000 nucleotides or less. DNA sequencing, alignment, and assembly are included. Customers may choose to send Altogen Labs the Gene ID/Genbank/Swiss-Prot number, the gene/protein sequence, or a plasmid containing a gene (or protein) of interest.
DNA Isolation ("Maxi-Prep")
Plasmid DNAs or an LB plate with bacterial colonies are obtained from the customer, and company scientists perform bacterial transformations and use the Invitrogen maxi-prep kit to yield approximately 400-700 µg high-quality plasmid DNA.
Plasmid DNA Preparation: 2 mg
The customer sends host cells, and company scientists purify at least 2 mg high-quality plasmid DNA from the cells. The customer also receives a summary report that includes DNA concentrations, volumes, and images of the DNA after agarose gel electrophoresis.
